Program Overview

Thompson Rivers University's (TRU) School of Business and Economics offers an accelerated 10 month Master of Business Administration (MBA) targeted at the recent business graduate with little or no formal work experience who is seeking to develop their professional business career. The program is designed to provide exposure to more advanced management topics building on the foundation acquired at the undergraduate level. Courses will be taught with a strong international focus and with emphasis on the application of technology in business organizations. The TRU MBA is organized around four educational concepts: Foundation, Core, Concentrations, and Integration with opportunities for concentrations in Strategic Management Information Systems, Advanced Corporate Finance, Advanced Marketing Management, and Global Management. MBA Co-op is also offered.

TRU's new International Building houses the School of Business and Economics and the MBA program. This facility has a number of large tiered lecture theatres with full audio-visual support suitable for the case approach along with two 30-seat computer labs, and a number of smaller "breakout" rooms for group work. The building is equipped with a wireless network to support the use of laptop computers. A new residence building has just been constructed within a short walk from the International Building and food services. This facility provides students with access to safe, modern accommodations at an affordable price. A modern weight room, a gymnasium, an indoor and outdoor track, and a number of sports fields are available to students along with a modern aquatic centre featuring an Olympic-sized pool, dry and wet saunas, and a jacuzzi.
